We haven't traveled for the past few months out of Riyadh. We're not wishing for an out of the country trip (but if it's possible, yey!) because schedules and wallets are tight but even an out of town seems remote for us these days. We can't even go to the most popular, nearest out-of-Riyadh spot here:

A Photo A Day 12

The Pink Tarha is on a break. We're having an ice cream break from the heat!

Riyadh is one big oven during summer. Our A/Cs have been cranked up to the highest level... They'll probably break down any minute now. We are taking refuge in food. Cold food.

Ice cream anyone?

The most accessible ice cream brand to us is Cone Zone. Can you guess what flavors make the Pink Tarha ladies squeal in delight? The scoops in the photo are four different flavors and we all like them. Mary and Sundrenched particularly like what Eyecandy calls the "toothpaste ice cream"... mint choco chip! Lol. Too bad, the Cone Zone branch near us doesn't offer it anymore that's why it's not in the photo. There's always a good sub though. Guess, guess! :)

Oh okay, after this, we're taking a breather in posting food photos too because Ramadan starts tomorrow. Our Muslim friends will be fasting. To non-Muslim Filipinos, please refrain from eating in public. (This is the perfect time to go on a diet mode.) Check our expat's guide to Ramadan.

A Photo A Day 10

Once upon a time, Eyecandy and I ventured out into the empty streets of Riyadh on a Friday afternoon. We settled on this buchi-looking street design and took a photo of us, under the scorching heat of the sun, amid the curious stares of the passengers of cars wheezing by... while waiting for a store to open. Yes, we are indeed crazy. But as crazy as that may sound, can you, Riyadh peeps, guess where we were?

Name the STREET.

Clue: It's a pretty busy street, especially at night. It has a line of chocolate stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and fashion stores. Sounds like any other street in Riyadh? Think again! The restaurant which serves one of our fave shawarmas in the Kingdom, is located in this street. Oh, how easy! ;)
