Camel Corner Souvenirs

I remember the time when we posted our entry on the Kikay Camels, we got a lot of queries where we bought them. For a time, there was a bazaar in our workplace that sells them but it was gone after a month so we didn't know where to direct readers. I've been on the lookout for these ever since and I chanced upon a rack in Manila Center, near the Al-Rajhi Supermarket beside Military Hospital (RKH).

Well, worry no more, dear readers because we know where you'll get the kikay camels... and more!!! Camel Corner in King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center will be your oasis. (Kung maka-oasis naman talaga?! Haha!) You'll find the perfect souvenir items for everyone back in your home country! Bags for your wives? Check! Shawls and table runners for mothers? Check! Mugs and shisha models for your husbands and fathers? Check! Keychains and ref magnets for your sisters? Check! Camel stuff toys for your little kids? Check! You can even get a snow globe for you! Check, check, check! (Even if snow raining down on the Kingdom Center and Faisaliah Tower is kind of ironic, don't you think? Hahaha.)

The souvenirs that launched a thousand queries. Kikay camels, anyone?
And some ref magnets... (SR15 each)
Mugs that will earn you major points... it's totally unique! Haha! (SR15 each)
Display plates featuring Riyadh's iconic landmarks. (SR15 up; depending on sizes)
Sosyal camels!

Sosyal date pick holders.
Little cases in wonderful colors and bling.
Candle holder? (SR35 each)
Turkish pitchers (SR75 each)
Shisha models from SR15 up depending on size
Snow globes. Cute and colorful diba? (SR35 up)
Adorable camels :P
Shawls, pashminas, and scarves (SR40 each)
Love the camel illustrations on that bag. Hahaha!
More bags in various colors and sizes
Bags for the kiddos.
Fabrics, textures, designs
Lamps and light fixtures
Love the combination of gold and rich, vibrant colors.
I personally like to take this home for our ancestral house!
How about some camel wood carvings in your house? From the desert with love!
Visit this shop after you go to Four Nail Spa and Salon or vice-versa if you're in the KFSH&RC vicinity. Going on vacation? You now know where to go. Alam na! Thanks for "reading" my photo dump! ;) ~ Sundrenched

There are a lot of souvenir shops here in Riyadh. And yes, there are some in Deira but we haven't been there for a long time so we can't feature them. This shop is very accessible to us. As for the price, we've placed some on the photo captions. I think they're pretty reasonable and affordable. :) Thanks for reading the blog! :)

Awesome. Just what i was looking for! When u say there are lots of souvenir shops', do u mind naming a few please. I live near kingdom mall and riyadh gallery. Help :)

Thanks for this post!

@Siham: We don't know the names of those shops. Some are written in Arabic and some doesn't have signages at all. We saw them in Deira, a souk near Batha, long ago. In between Kingdom Mall and Riyadh Gallery, you can try Kuwaiti souk. However, we haven't roamed that area thoroughly so we don't know if there are souvenir shops there.

Tanks for reading The Pink Tarha!

@Anonymous 7:04pm: Yes, you can enter the hospital grounds. Just tell the guards, if they ask, that you're going to the amenities center/grocery store/social club. :) Thanks for reading The Pink Tarha! :)

@Anonymous 12:59PM: It's inside the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre ground. The hospital is pretty much familiar.

@Anonymous 6:07PM: Yes it is.

@Anonymous 11:35AM: If it's the small round cases, it's SR 5 each.

Thank God I saw your site :) I've been asking my husband who's working there in Riyadh to buy me some ref magnets (since I'm a self confessed Magnet Addict, hehe), its been several months now and still he cant find a store who sells that. I'm so excited!!! I already texted my husband. Thank you again Pink Tarta <3

Just went to King Faisal this afternoon to go to Camel Corner. I told the guards that I will go to the amenities center to buy something. I was not allowed to go inside for he said that non-employees are not allowed to go inside. I was really looking forward to get some souvenirs but sadly that was not the case on this one. Kind of frustrating.

The Pink Tarha said...

@Anonymous 3:33PM: It is unfortunate that you had that experience. We were told by the manager of Camel Corner, and also of Four Salon which is on the same area, that the guards would let non-employees in if they were told that they were going to the shops in the Amenities. We cannot predict who the guards for the day are so it might vary depending on them. Also, it is very difficult nowadays to go to that area because of the ongoing construction so they might have made stricter rules. You can try going to the Camel Corner branch in Dirah. We haven't been there ourselves but was told that it's near the watch tower. Thank you.
